Peter B Huestis Owner & Lead Consultant

Peter has been involved in independent school leadership for more than 20 years at fine schools including; Forsyth Country Day School (NC), Casady School (OK), Bayside Academy (AL), Augusta Prep (GA), and Kentucky Country Day School (KY). He has served as a teacher, advisor, coach, club sponsor, Athletic Director, Academic Program creator/director, Division Head, Associate Head of School, and Head of School. Previously, Peter was involved in amateur, collegiate, and professional sports coaching and administration with Bishop’s University (U Sports Canada), Barry University (NCAA Div. II), the Miami Heat (NBA), the National Alliance for Youth Sports, and the Boston Celtics (NBA).

Peter grew up in Eastern Canada and earned his bachelor’s degree in History before completing his master’s degree in Science. He has also completed coursework toward advanced graduate study in Educational Leadership. He participated in the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Executive Leadership Forum (GA) and National Association of Independent Schools School Leadership Institute while earning the Schools Attuned Certification (All Kinds of Minds).

While serving leadership roles at several top independent schools, Peter has led successful initiatives including; curriculum integration, increasing faculty support (professional development & compensation), program development, marketing & enrollment management plans, faculty evaluation tools, innovative strategic planning, major capital campaigns (ranging from $2M - $18M), and campus master planning (including building design).

Peter has held leadership roles and won various awards with the Kentucky Association of Independent Schools (President), the Triad Business Leader Magazine (Impact Education Leader), Mobile Bay Magazine, the PGA of America, Business Development Bank of Canada, and Boy Scouts Canada. His desire to give back has led Peter to serve as a volunteer coordinator, a youth coach, golf caddie, and serve on several boards.

Peter is most proud of his roles as husband to Betsy, father of Xavier and Oliver, and friend to countless former colleagues, students, and families he has served.
